Armada’s origins in the foodservice industry began in the 1890s as a meat packing company in Pittsburgh, PA.
A pivotal moment in our history is marked by a single food innovation for a leading fast food restaurant brand.
Today, we still work with that same food chain and have expanded to supply chain and logistics for many more of America’s favorite flavor stops. Our culture of innovation, leadership and extraordinary service to clients has changed the way the industry operates today.
Company officially incorporated
Armada’s origins in the foodservice industry began in the 1890s as a meat packing company established by the Hofmann family in the North Side of Pittsburgh, PA.
First innovation of ReDistribution operations in support of food manufacturing companies
Enter Bacon Bits… One of our early clients needed a distribution solution for a slow-moving item.
National ReDistribution and warehousing services established
The family business expanded specialties so we could do more for our clients.
Complete supply chain visibility technology developed
When one of our clients needed a solution, we stepped up and developed new supply chain technology that changed the industry forever.
Managed freight services established
Continuing to adapt to our clients’ needs, we began managing freight for one of the biggest foodservice supply chain networks.
